The Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League would like to congratulate the Town of Deer Lake on being awarded the major midget franchise for the Western Region. The league looks forward to working with the town to continue the strong tradition of developing elite midget aged players from that region. With a coaching staff headed by Mark Robinson and ex-NHLer Darren Langdon, returning players and graduating players from the AAA Bantam League, will be provided with the opportunity to take their game to the next level. Joining the Central IcePak, TrIpen Osprey, St. John's Maple Leafs and East Coast Blizzard, the Western Kings will compete for the coveted provincial championship starting the weekend of September 8, 2017.
